This week both Reception and Year One are focusing on addition and subtraction.

Reception will be using cubes to work out the total of two groups of objects. They will be talking in their full sentences to explain the number problem and looking at the number sentences.

Year One’s will be working with two digit and one digit numbers when adding and subtracting. They will be working out the patterns in number problems, such as:

24 + 5 = 29

29 – 5 = 24
