This week our thoughts and learning are all on measurement!

Reception will be starting to understand what measurement means and the language that we use. The key words this week will be:

full empty nearly full nearly empty half full

Reception will then look at understanding how to weigh objects and the language that is used, for example:

heavy light heavier lighter heaviest lightest balance

Year One’s will be concentrating on measuring time. They will be seeing how many repetitive activities they can do in a set time and understanding the difference of seconds and minutes. They will also be recapping weighing and concentrating of the language of weight measurement – grams and kilograms.
