Exploring number patterns

Group 2 have been exploring numbers and how they change when we are increasing and decreasing. During this week we have explored writing numbers in words, ordering numbers and comparing number using “greater than” and “less than”

Today we looked at counting forwards and backwards on a 100 square in jumps of 3. We started at different numbers and wrote down the numbers we landed on.

We then had a go at counting forwards and backwards from any given number on the 100 square in 3’s and 10’s.

To finish the lesson we explored what odd and even numbers are. We wrote our own number cards and sorted them into odd and even. We then used our previous knowledge of tens and ones to create 2 digit numbers and sort them into odd and even. We understood that the ones digit determined whether the number was odd or even.

Well done everyone, we had lots of fun today! Keep practising writing those numbers in words and sorting numbers into odd and even πŸ™‚
