Year One pupils are continuing their understanding of coins and notes and this week we are focusing on addition and subtraction with money in everyday terms. We have been pretending to buy cakes and biscuits from the role play, working out the totals, finding the correct money or deciding if we need change.

Reception pupils are continuing this week to work on their doubling and halving. They are using manipulatives to help them work out halves and doubles with their partners, making sure they are using their careful counting skills and talking in full sentences.

When we are talking in our full sentences, we are concentrating on using the correct terminology. “Double one is two and half of two is one”
